Your challenge

Support Philips Research, Philips Sectors and outside customers in software development activities throughout the world.

 Your responsibilities

• Help build / extend the current SES mobile team, building mobile applications for iOS (iPhone / iPad), Android, Windows Phone 7,…
• Take part in the planning/tracking process by participating in daily stand-ups and iteration meetings
• Attend and participate in retrospectives and quality audits
• Contribute actively to quality, timely delivery, and the relationships within the (multi-disciplinary) team and its stakeholders
• Develop all production and test code in programming pairs (except for routine and/or simple tasks)
• Write unit tests for verification of functionality
• Integrate changes back into the main trunk several times a day
• Contribute to improvement activities
• Acquire/maintain problem- and solution domain knowledge

Your team

The Software Engineering Services group is a shared software development and software services organization in the Systems Creation department of MiPlaza, Innovation Services (http://sc.natlab.research.philips.com/index.php?dept=ses). It supports Philips Research, Philips Sectors and outside customers in software development activities throughout the world. The group has developed a very lightweight (agile) process with a combination of eXtreme Programming and Scrum, has reached CMM Level 2 and is certified for both ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. 

The group has highly competent software team leaders, designers, architects and project managers who contribute both to concept and technology development, platform development and new product development. Competences include SW development on embedded and PC platforms, web services, distributed sensor systems, user interaction and signal processing in the lighting, healthcare and energy management domain.

• You have a bachelor / master degree in software or electrical engineering
• Have a proven track record in software development
• Have a strong interest in mobile development. Preferably, you can show this by applications posted in Apple AppStore or Google Android market
• Have strong coding skills
• Have an interest in agile development methodologies like Lean, eXtreme Programming, Kanban and Scrum
• Have a drive to play the part needed to make a project successful
• Have affinity with innovative development projects, starting from relatively vague requirements.
