The Power Packer (PP) Global IT Manager will be responsible for managing the IT department for PP global sites as well as technical hands-on administration of all IT functions supporting PP business and it’s sites across the globe.

The position is located in Oldenzaal (NL), where the Global Management Team for PP resides. The position reports into the Global Finance & IT Leader of PP (in NL), with a strong dotted line to the Actuant Global IT Infrastructure Manager at Corporate, Menomonee Falls (USA).

This position involves managing a highly technical IT team focusing on IT infrastructure as well as ERP system administration (BAAN moving to Oracle). The position involves supporting PP business units in Europe (Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain and Turkey) as well as global (Brazil, U.S. and shared locations in Mexico, China, etc.).

The ideal candidate should have both leadership and technical skills to efficiently and effectively manage the IT department for PP

The position includes technical hands-on responsibilities including but not limited to the following:

Technical/Hands-on

• High availability of business systems hosted within Power Packer business units globally.
• Administration of Server Infrastructure MS Windows Server / VMWare/ Citrix / Unix (HP-UX)
• Networks LAN /WAN, switches, routers, firewall administration
• Database Availability – Oracle supporting BAAN ERP platform
• Desktop Infrastructure - Windows / Imaging / deployment / anti-virus
• IT Security – Overall security of network/systems/information for PP Global.
• SOX, PCI and other IT legislation and compliance maintenance
• Software Licensing & Hardware / Software / Consumables procurement
• Backup Strategy & IT Disaster Recovery plan
• Capacity Planning
• Telecommunications

In addition cover, support and collaboration for the other regional areas as expected from time to time. The ability to travel is essential and will also be required occasionally.

Essential Functions

-Technical-

• At least 5 years experience of administering Windows servers, with strong Exchange and Active Directory experience.
• Demonstrated innovation and implementation skills.
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Customer orientated and interested in service provision.
• Excellent knowledge of core Microsoft technologies including but not limited to Windows (2003/XP), AD, GPOs, NTFS, DFS, Exchange, SQL, Clustering, IIS
• Full grasp on networking including subnets, routing, VLAN, firewalls, VPN, etc (extensive hands on switch/router configuration is not required).
• Good familiarity with a range of hardware types, e.g. desktops, server, RAID arrays, switches, etc

- Operational -

• Ensure Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), ITIL, licensing and corporate IT compliance
• Developing business case and other justifications for projects
• Managing and qualifying 3rd party vendors and contracts, including contract negotiation
• Development of IT system and process documentation.

Qualifications - Education, Experience, and/or Training

Required –

• At least 3-5 years of Managerial/Supervisory experience managing highly technical IT staff members.
• At least 5 years experience of administering Windows servers, with strong Exchange and Active Directory experience
• Experience of administering a diverse IT Infrastructure

- Desirable –

• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE or Similar) and other up-to-date Microsoft certifications
• Cisco Certified (CCNA or CCNP)
• ITIL Practitioner
• Understanding of Sarbanes Oxley, PCI and other compliance requirements.
